My project 2 idea is going to be about the game of basketball. I am going to show a basketball court and I will describe each position played on the court. My purpose is to inform the audience on different positions in the game of basketball.
My project is an appreciation for Oscar Wilde's A Picture of Dorian Gray.
"The world is changed because you are made of ivory and gold. The curves of your lips rewrite history." kicks off the narrative. With it being my favorite quote, I went back to the novel and searched for the keyword "ivory."
It most definitely has a non-linear story line and most of the pages probably won't really make sense to anyone.
Nevertheless, I really love Wilde's diction and the novel is all about art, beauty and the nature of influence.
A lot of the elements in my story book relates back to Wilde and almost every little detail means something.

I wanted to do a story that's based on repetition, not so much having to go through the same things over and over to progress, but rather something that the viewer can loop back through once they finish one iteration of the story and go back through with a different path to get a different ending. I want a story that has the ability to be read more than once.
It will be something related to circles most likely, possibly in the design, or the elements that make up the story. I'm not completely sure yet.

My idea is to create an interactive narrative. The viewer is introduced with a story, and then they must choose how to proceed. After this, they are taken to a final page to discover the result of their choice.
Basically, viewers approach a statue and must give it an offering, choosing from 6 different items. If the viewer chooses the right objects to offer to the statue, it will give them a vision of their "downfall." They will see an image that can be interpreted as either the way they will die or their fatal flaw— their hamartia.
I've been working on an idea for the final pages that makes it a little more interactive than just a final screen, but it's still an experiment.
The mood is supposed to be sort of dark and eerie. I want to immerse the viewer in the website and make them think about what their "downfall" means beyond its face.
Below is part of the image I've created for the statue. It is supposed to be very mysterious (this effect will hopefully be helped with the backstory).

My project 2 is going to be about D.B. Cooper crime. I always fine unsolved crimes interesting, as there is still so much in question. I want to leave the answer up to the view of what they thought happen, so I will only illustrate facts and evidence already known, and will not give my own thoughts of what happened. I would like the pages to reflect that it is an old cold case. My idea was to have a background as a folder and have it open to each new page, but I am not sure how to even go about that. The pages will show age though, in some way.
(The picture provided is a sketch of what D.B. Cooper could have looked like. It will not be in my final project however, since it is a pre-existing illustration.)

Duffy Ideas
I'm not really sure yet what story I want to tell but I have a few ideas:
- story based off of a sculpture series called Kaws
- Something that has to do with the experience at music festivals
- narrative concerning life and death or how one decision can change the rest of your life as well as those around you
- something relating to the creation of art
My ideas for project 2:
- The evolution of windows represented by the logo change with the option to interact with the logo.
- What makes up different kinds of coffee drinks? What is a difference between a latte and a macchiato? This will allow the viewer to interact with objects like espresso, milk and a cup to explore their own results, a-la "Doodle God".

I've been thinking about trying to do a horror story of some kind. I originally wanted to do a story based on the experience of dreaming, and of running away from something. I want to use circles as a design element, and to limit how much of the page the viewer can see at any given time. I want the entire experience to be a little bit hazy for the viewer to experience but I don't know exactly how I want to achieve that yet.
The idea I have for project #2 is making it "the life of a procrastinator". What I would do with this is take pictures throughout the day of the thought process of when it would be best to do homework and deciding whether to do it that day or not. So it would start at the beginning of the day and constantly throughout the day I would question whether to do homework or do something else and procrastinate. At the end of stories, it will loop back to the beginning and start all over again because if you procrastinate today, you're probably going to procrastinate tomorrow too (that's if it's not due tomorrow.) I plan to add a few gifs depending on how much time it will take me. I think this relates to many college students, or even high school students. I plan for it to be about 14 pages give or take. The only obstacle I am still figuring out is where and how I want the links to the next page to be displayed. It will be a funny and light story that I believe you all will enjoy.
Project 2 Idea: Callie
My project is based on my life a few weeks ago. I was having a rather large panic attack (doctor's diagnosis after that week), and it was causing me to not sleep. After 5 days straight of not sleeping, I was hallucinating badly. My site is based off of my hallucinations. I was hallucinating scary things like spiders, my stuffed animals laughing at me, my mirror wearing clothing, and all sorts of different things. During the time that I was hallucinating, I was scared of most things around me, but my boyfriend was there to calm me down, so my site goes back and forth from dark and scary to happy and calm. Every other page is different and corresponds to that theme.
I also have 2 songs that I incorporated into my site based on their message and beat. One has a positive beat and is comforting to me which I use lyrics from on my happy pages and the other one has a dark beat that I use lyrics from on my negative pages. The lyrics to the songs also correspond to things I was thinking about at the time. The dark song talks about money a lot, which was one stressor that I was experiencing and the other song talks about love which relates back to my boyfriend being there for me.
The site will be interactive, where you will click on pieces of text that lead you to the next page.

I want to create a story about a child who has lost their dog. While I'm not exactly sure of all the details, I know that I will be using a red ball as an element on every page that will be a link to the next step in the story. Most pages will have roll over gifs, and there will be little text or no text on most pages.
I want to create a series of pages that utilize different web components to put a couple character through a variety of genres, such as horror, buddy-comedy, documentary, rom-com, and action. Most of this will be told by switching around elements when adjusting the size of the window, which can make the characters come closer and "interact" or trigger a .gif.
I don't really have any concrete ideas, but I was thinking about doing something with light switches or something that contrasts light and dark. I don't have a story right now, just vague ideas about what to do with the code... I would like the story to have multiple possible outcomes.
Going with my interest in trains, I am creating a story of people watching trains in the 1950s. The index will contain multiple links to different independent stories that will each be 3-5 pages long. At the end of each story, a link will be provided to return to the index. When the user finds the link to the next page, a rollover effect will occur and the image will change.
